EXERCISE DESCRIPTION
Analytical tools play a crucial role in the analysis of works of art, as they allow for a deeper and more structured understanding of the elements that make up a performance or an artistic creation. They make it possible to break the work down into its various components (staging, choreography, performance, music, rendition, lighting, costumes, etc.) and to see how these components interact with each other. Theoretical frameworks and analytical methods make it possible to situate a piece within its historical, cultural, social, and artistic context and thus analyze it with greater objectivity, relying on established criteria rather than subjective feelings. There are many different analytical tools, and they are often used in combination to build a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of a work of art.
