EXERCISE DESCRIPTION

The facilitator invites participants to form groups based on a common affinity, without speaking or with only a minimum amount of verbal dialogue. For example, they might ask participants to group themselves according to their favorite animal. By whispering or communicating non-verbally, each person must find the others who share the same affinity. The exercise ends once all participants are gathered into clear and distinct groups. The facilitator can then propose a new question, and groups are then formed around other themes.

Examples of affinity groups:
– favorite color
– favorite circus discipline
– zodiac sign

Similar exercises: CONTINUUM ON A LINE

Ask participants to form a line according to a criterion such as their birthday month (from January to December) or by age (from oldest to youngest). Participants then try to place themselves correctly on the line without speaking.
