DURATION

A sound system or Bluetooth speaker
EXERCISE DESCRIPTION
- Before beginning, prepare a playlist or choose an existing one for the party (for example, each person can add their favorite song to the playlist).
- You may choose a theme or situation for the party (e.g. a celebration, a reunion, your cat’s birthday, etc.).
- Wearing a costume is always an option!
This exercise is designed to help a group begin moving and to raise group energy. Using music and movement, it also helps each person become more available to themselves and to the group. It can be practiced by anyone. The proposal is to let yourself be guided by the music, take up space, and move your body as if you were at a dance party. It’s a playful and festive exercise that allows everyone to build up energy at their own pace, according to their needs and abilities.
TAKING IT FURTHER
If you’re practicing in a group, you can choose a DJ for the exercise. You can also create a “random” party by placing all song titles and party situations / themes in a box, and have the DJ draw them at random. The DJ then announces the song and the situation to the group.
